Life to Eagle Advancement Resources

The Life to Eagle advancement resources is intended to assist our Scouts in planning and executing their Eagle project in a timely and organized fashion. An Eagle project is a major undertaking that involved planning, coordination, budgeting and a focus on the goal of attaining the Eagle Rank.

This page has a number of documents which are intended to provide guidance to an Eagle candidate on the process, requirements, service project, scholorships, etc.

We strongly recommend that both the Eagle candidate and the parents or guardians of an Eagle candidate review these materials. Parents, your understanding, support and guidance is going to be important to your Scout!

The Eagle Scout Pledge

On my honor, I will do my best, to do my duty to God.

On my honor, I will do my best, to do my duty to my country.

I reaffirm my allegiance to the three promises of the Scout Oath.

I thoughtfully recognize and take upon myself the obligations and responsibilities of the rank of Eagle Scout.

On my honor, I will do my best to make my training an example, and make my rank and influence strongly count for better scouting

and for better citizenship, in my troop, in my community, and in my contact with other people, regardless of race, color, or creed.

To this, I pledge my sacred honor.

Past Service Projects

Paul's Renovation of the Saint Patrick's East-West Room (Aspiring Eagle)

Kiernan's project installed new, updated signage throughout the Frelinghuysen Arboretum property. The work involved removing the 15 existing signs, digging new holes, installing new signposts, and mounting the signs. The signs were quite large and heavy as the posts were 6x6 timbers.

A slot for mounting the signs had to be chisled into each post, a different length for almost every sign. The signs were then set in concrete in each hole. This required hauling jugs of water to each sign location to mix the concrete and bracing the signs with 2x4s until the concrete set. Since only 2-3 could be done at a time, it required multiple days to install all 15.
